Artist Statement:

Clay has been calling to me since I was a young child when I glimpsed the pottery wheel inaction during summer camp. After leaving a 25-year career in finance, I finally had the chance to explore this lifelong dream and found my passion wheel-throwing functional pottery in porcelain. I find inspiration from the elements of nature. My finished pieces reflect a modern aesthetic and often evoke a sense of movement.

Artist Bio:

Claire’s clay journey began at Clay-Art-Center in the summer of 2011 when she took her first pottery class. Over time, she developed her skills working in porcelain, focusing on creating functional art using wheel throwing and altering techniques. She started creating pieces for her own holiday tables, then for family and friends and now offers her pieces for sale. Claire has been a CAC Artist since 2018.
