Students can schedule one open studio slot per week in advance. Students can schedule a second time slot per week after waiting until the day of the desired time slot to schedule.
Open studio is only available to adult students who are CURRENTLY enrolled in a multiple-week course. Students must attend in the same studio where their class is being held. Virtual and youth students are not eligible to attend open studio.
Open Studio is extra time to work on projects without guidance or instruction. There are studio artists or staff available to sell materials or answer studio questions, but they are not teaching during Open Studio time.
Open studio is not paid for by student tuition and is a courtesy provided by Clay Art Center.
Open studio is available by appointment only using the calendars below. Time slots may be reserved as early as one week in advance. Please do not show up without an appointment. You will be turned away.
Open studio times may be canceled for functions or unforeseen needs. In the rare circumstance that this happens with less than a week's notice, we will update the website and email anyone already registered for this timeslot.

HOW TO

Select an open studio time using the calendars below. This will reserve your open studio appointment for that day and time.
Please use the same calendar that your class is being held.
- If your class is in the Annex, you must use the Annex Calendar below.
- If your class is in the Main Classroom, you must use the Main Classroom Calendar below.
The times that appear on the calendar still have space available. Once the time slot is filled, it is hidden and can’t be seen on the scheduler.

ANNEX

Something came up, can I cancel my appointment?
- Yes, If you need to change your appointment time, you can do so via the email confirmation that will be sent once you have made your appointment. We ask that if you need to cancel, you do so at least 24hrs before your open studio time.
How many open studio slots can I reserve?
- You can sign up for one slot per week space permitting. You can only sign up one week in advance.
Will there be others with me in open studio?
- Yes, most likely. Open studio has the same capacity as your class.
- Your open studio mates could be from other classes. It’s a great way to meet new people and see what others are making in other courses!
Will someone be monitoring during my open studio session?
- Yes, every open studio will be monitored by CAC staff, Artist, or Resident. We are there to help and answer questions!
Can I buy clay and tools during open studio?
- Yes, your open studio monitor will be able to sell you clay and tools if needed.
Can I bring my meal and eat in the studio?
- Sorry, currently there is no eating in the studios.
I’m running late, should I still come?
- Yes, but we kindly ask that you be on time and use the most out of your reservation. There most likely are others waiting for a spot to become available.
