Artist Statement

I strive to fuse the familiar into something new and reimagined, exploring the interplay of wheel-thrown ceramics and lathe-turned cork. My functional pottery is designed for the home with a simple philosophy: every piece is meticulously handmade, ensuring the highest level of care and attention to detail. Utilizing the potter's wheel, I craft each item from stoneware, guaranteeing durability. To add an extra layer of intricacy, select pieces are complemented by carefully integrated wood and cork elements. I personally hand-turn the cork components on a wood lathe, resulting in a truly distinctive and custom fit for each piece.

Each collection has been thoughtfully crafted to adapt to individual preferences, reflecting the duality between the domestic household's simple and complex habits. I challenge the notion of our quickly paced life through a series of functional ceramic sets that embrace compact, efficient design-emphasizing my desire for beauty to function in our life and home.
