Artist Statement

I had always wanted to be an artist and scientist and when I took my first throwing class as I turned 40, I fell in love with clay. The more I learned, the more I realized that It combined art and science and found myself exactly where I wanted to be. My work is functional and made primarily on the wheel using porcelain. Glaze testing is an important part for me, creating and revising glaze recipes that are enhanced by the white porcelain - art and chemistry combined.
