Clay Art Center invites students from Port Chester public schools to participate in a free after-school clay program. This program teaches students about the history and importance of ceramics in various cultures around the world, while also giving each student the freedom to interpret and create themed projects using their own unique perspectives and imagination. With sequential, skill-based learning, hands-on projects, exposure to professional ceramic artists, and internship opportunities for our High School students, Clay Art Center is excited to bring our love of clay and ceramics to learners of all ages.
This program is supported by the Common Sense Fund, and Clay Art Center is also proud to be a grantee of ArtsWestchester with funding made possible by Westchester County government with the support of County Executive George Latimer.

This month marks the 11th Anniversary of the completion and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the iconic Clay Art Center Tree Mosaic Mural that greets visitors to our vibrant community. The project was conceived by Founding Director Reena Kashyap and (then) Community Arts Fellow Shanna Fliegel. The mosaic was created and installed under the direction of (then) Community Arts Director Ariel Plantz with the support of Clay Art Center's Mural Committee, and several donors.
Begun in 2009, and completed in 2013, the mosaic pieces were created by more than 250 students, artists and volunteers from community organizations. The tree is a celebration of our local community and honors all those who make time for creative expression and use clay as a transformative medium, and is as important to us today as it was when it was first completed.
Stop by Clay Art Center to see the Mural in person, and discover the rich variety of images, textures, and artistic styles that come together as a whole in one wonderful artwork. We have Free Guided Gallery & Studio Tours every Wednesday at 11.30am, including viewing the mosaic.
