Improving Skills and Sharing Experiences
Looking back on recent workshops and Community Arts Programs at Clay Art Center.
We love to share work from our Community Arts Programs! These melodic ceramic wind chime projects were completed recently by students in our Clay Expressions program with instructor Denis Licul. In partnership with Cancer Support Community Greater NY & CT at Gilda’s Club, Clay Art Center offers weekly classes to those impacted by cancer. Students explore the therapeutic qualities of clay while meditating and sharing their experiences with others.
Clay Art Center also recently partnered with Parsonage Cottage to offer a spring ceramics class at their assisted living facility in Greenwich, CT. Students at Parsonage Cottage enjoyed creating dioramas during their last session of the spring term. The range of pieces made in class highlights the students’ creativity and passion for working with clay. We’re excited to return their pieces once they’re out of the kiln!

This past week, the Clay Art Center community enjoyed two workshops: Gestural Throwing with Steven Hill on June 29th & 30th and Intro to Mosaics with Regina Farrell-Fagan on July 1st & 2nd! Students learned how to advance their throwing techniques with Steven Hill to bring their clay to life. Intro to Mosaics provided students with the ability to plan, design and make their own mosaic artwork! Clay Art Center strives to provide workshops which offer techniques and skillsets that allow for our students to advance their journeys with clay.
