Our generous donors and supporters helped raise $106,000 to keep

Clay Art Center’s vital programs strong.

Clay Art Center celebrated 63 years with its 13th Annual Fall Benefit on October 22nd. The one-hour fundraiser was completely virtual this year. An online crowd of over 185 enjoyed a live and pre-recorded program that included videos from Clay Art Center members and its partners highlighting CAC programs and why Clay Art Center matters. The celebration shone a spotlight on all the elements which make Clay Art Center an asset to the community and the world of ceramics and the ways Clay Art Center has been able to stay connected and provide opportunities for virtual engagement during these challenging times. Guests were also entertained with music from the Clay Arts Quintet featuring former New York Yankee and Grammy award winner Bernie Williams.

The online auction featured one-of-kind ceramic artwork donated by local and nationally recognized artists, which attracted competitive bidding and exceeded expectations.

Emily Peck, Clay Art Center’s, Executive Director was overwhelmed with the generosity of all the donors who raised a near-record $106,000 to keep Clay Art Center’s vital programs strong. "I am inspired by our community and their continued support of Clay Art Center. Their support makes the power of creativity accessible to all, and means so much during this challenging year."

The annual fall benefit allows supporters of Clay Art Center to celebrate together and this year’s attendees were still able to catch up with new and old friends in a lively virtual cocktail hour. Hand in Hand also ensured that Clay Art Center remains strong, supporting viral operations and continuing to provide access to individuals from the Westchester community with the opportunity to engage in the transformational quality of clay. Funding from Hand in Hand supports year-round scholarships for Port Chester youth to take classes where they grow and flourish; provides a place for emerging artists to gain experience and skills through the Residency program; and offers hope and connection for people with special needs. Funding also covers increased costs due to COVID precautions and smaller class sizes.
