Madhvi Subrahmanian
Artist and curator Madhvi Subrahmanian lives and works in Singapore and frequently shows in her city of birth, Mumbai. Madhvi is a founding member and curator of the Indian Ceramics Triennale and she is currently Artist in Residence at Hunter College, NYC. Madhvi’s practice is informed by her migratory life and her multiple forms are often set in participatory or immersive installations. Madhvi is a member of International Academy Of Ceramics, Geneva and Artaxis, USA. She trained at the Golden Bridge Pottery, Pondicherry and has a Masters in Fine Arts from Meadows School of the Arts, Dallas, TX. Madhvi has been invited to several international artist- in-residence programs and her works are in many private and public collections such as Shigaraki Ceramic Sculptural Park, Japan, Fule Museum in Fuping, China and Indian Heritage Centre in Singapore. She has shown at several ceramic biennales in countries such as Korea, Indonesia and China as well as at museums internationally. Her upcoming show ‘walk and chew gum...; will be on exhibit from March 3rd to March 23rd, 2020 at Thomas Hunter project space, Hunter College, NYC.
