A Full Circle Journey at Clay Art Center!
Learn more about the journey of Artist in Residence Jess Levin from Summer Camp to gallery exhibition.
At Clay Art Center, we take joy in witnessing the growth of our artists and students. Regardless of their level or age, our goal is to nurture the creative development of all. Meet Jess Levin, who began as a young artist in our Summer Camp back in 2014 under the guidance of former Artist in Residence Ron Geibel. After graduating from White Plains High School, Jess pursued a BFA with a focus on ceramics at SUNY Purchase.
Jess's journey at Clay Art Center continued as they were chosen as the 2022-2023 Westchester Community Foundation Fellow, and subsequently selected as an Artist in Residence for 2023-2024.
Reflecting on their early days, Jess recalls visiting Ron Geibel's studio during Summer Camp, an experience they describe as "eye-opening." This year, Jess is teaching at our Summer Camp, remarking, "Now I have the opportunity to teach kids who are just like I was."
Jess Levin's path at Clay Art Center embodies our vision of to ignite a passion for clay and provide a nurturing community for that passion to flourish. We are committed to continuing this legacy well into the future.
Don’t miss Jess's exhibition "Dreamscapes" in our gallery until August 3rd. Additionally, Jess has an offsite exhibition at the local branch of USAllianceCredit Union in Port Chester, on display until the end of July.
