Students will learn the fundamentals of printing on clay in this two week class.

Week one will concentrate on creating the design and how to transfer the design onto linoleum. Students will be given all of the steps necessary to be able to print their designs onto clay. After making the slabs students will print onto them.

Week two will be a chance for the students to get creative with surface design through uses of oxides, underglazes, and glazes.

  • Included materials: 1 piece of linoleum, a cutter, 2 clay slabs, oxides, glazes and a selection of underglazes.

  • Firing fees are NOT included in the class price. If you want to make more than 2 slabs, clay is available for purchase.

  • Open studio is not included with this class.

Suggested Tools

  • Regular clay tools - sponges, ribs, pin tools etc.

  • Paint brushes - various sizes (we have some but students sometimes like to use their own)
