CAC works closely with our teaching artists to develop fun, educational camps with the camper's age-level in mind. In order to ensure the success of our programs, we ask that you take into consideration your child’s age and ability level as indicated in the camp description when registering your child.

The health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority. Please keep your child at home if they are feeling sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING TO CAMP
Kids get messy, so make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and footwear (sneakers are best; no open-toed shoes). Most clay and glaze materials will wash out of clothing, but a smock or apron might be appropriate for children who are worried about getting their clothes stained. For wheel classes, kids must bring an old towel with them. CAC will provide all other materials, but if your child has their own tool set, they are welcome to bring it!

If your child has specific requirements, please contact camp@clayartcenter.org to better assess if we can adequately accommodate their needs. Please reach out to discuss ADA accommodations. CAC is not wheelchair accessible.

*There is free parking available in the middle of the municipal parking lot while you wait to drop off or pick up your camper.

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT

  • All campers ages 7-12 must be signed in and out by a designated adult. Campers will only be released to the adult(s) listed on their emergency contact form.

  • For campers ages 13-15, a parent or guardian must provide permission for the camper to sign themselves in/out. This permission can be given on the emergency contact form after registering.

  • For full-day campers, lunch boxes will be collected and stored by a CAC staff member.

SNACKS AND LUNCH BREAKS
Campers take a 10 minute snack break halfway through camp.

  • Make sure to pack a snack and beverage for your child and label the bag and bottle with their full name

  • For full-day campers, parents must provide lunch, 2 snacks and a beverage for each day of camp

  • Summer Camp at CAC is a peanut / nut-free program. Please do not provide any food items that contain peanuts, nuts, peanut butter, nut butters, or peanut products.

    • This includes almonds, filberts, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, and walnuts

  • Campers must NEVER trade food with other campers

  • Water bottles are allowed and encouraged

You will be asked to specify your camper’s dietary restrictions in the emergency contact form after registering.

The Food Allergy and Research & Education (FARE) recommends that parents educate their camper on how to self-manage their food allergy.

CAC will provide supervision during snack and lunch breaks. Full-day campers will have the opportunity to play games under the supervision of a CAC staff member during lunch.

COMPLETED PROJECTS

The ceramic process requires multiple steps including drying and firing in a kiln. This aftercare means your camper’s projects will take approximately three weeks to be completed after the camp has ended. CAC will email you when projects are ready for pick up.

  • Class time will include time for clean-up, an integral part of the process

  • Your children will be encouraged to create several pieces during camp. You can anticipate your child having 5-8 completed pieces.

  • All materials and firing are included in the cost of camp

  • Please Note: Due to the fragile nature of clay and the firing process, work can sometimes get damaged caused by construction issues or the firing or glazing processes

CAMP PAYMENT POLICY

  • Tuition is due in full at time of registration
