Our private lessons provide a concentrated learning environment and close attention to personal growth and development for individuals or small groups.

Private lessons are a minimum of 2 hours per session (1-4 students).
Some lessons may be scheduled for less than 2 hours at the discretion of the teacher and Clay Art Center depending on the topic and number of students. Reach out to mail@clayartcenter.org to discuss
It may take up to 2 weeks to schedule a private lesson because our instructor and studio availability is constantly changing. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Cancellations: Student must notify CAC and the instructor around 24 hours in advance to cancel a lesson, or they will be charged for that lesson.
We fire to cone 6 and cone 10 glaze temperatures.
Onsite lessons - Clay and firing fees are calculated separately from tuition:
New students: clay and firing fees are included with your first lesson
Repeat students: buy clay from us and firing credit with Student Credit
There is no open studio for private lessons
Students can keep up to 2 pieces in our one-time lessons

Email mail@clayartcenter.org or call the front desk at (914) 937-2047 x223 to confirm scheduling details and availability, and then register.

NOTE: While we make every effort to handle student work with the utmost care, we cannot guarantee perfect results because of the fragile and unpredictable nature of clay and the firing process. Works might crack or break during the firing or glazing process, and glazes can have unpredictable results. Our classes are geared towards a creative “making” experience rather than an end product.

Rates for Private Lessons
1 Student : 1 Teacher
Tuition is $70/hour for one student and payable at time of registration.
Starting price $140 for a 2 hour class
2 Students : 1 Teacher
Tuition is $90 per hour for two students and payable at time of registration.
Starting price $180 for a 2 hour class
3 Students : 1 Teacher
Tuition is $120 per hour for three students and payable at time of registration.
Starting price $240 for a 2 hour class
4 Students : 1 Teacher
Tuition is $150 per hour for four students and payable at time of registration.
Starting price $300 for a 2 hour class
