The Priscilla Young Giving Fund
Priscilla Young was a valued member of the Clay Art Center community. She initially came to Clay Art Center in the 1970s as a student, and purchased a wheel from our co-founder Henry Okamoto so she could teach pottery while at the University of Connecticut. After a long career in finance, first at Citibank, then at Bank of America, Priscilla shifted to become a fundraising executive with the March of Dimes, a career which lasted over 12 years.
Priscilla rediscovered Clay Art Center at the time that we were becoming a non-profit. She brought her fundraising expertise to Clay Art Center, and alongside our founding director Reena Kashyap, she was instrumental in setting the direction of all of our fundraising efforts. Priscilla was a valuable member of the CAC Board of Directors and served for many years.
Priscilla helped establish our Legacy Fund, both with a vision for the long term impact of giving back, and as our first pledged member of the Fund. She inspired many students, fellow board members, and community members with her vision and goal of giving back to Clay Art Center, and supporting our mission. Unfortunately taken from us too soon, we are pleased to honor both her memory and her purpose, by naming a general support Fund after Priscilla.
To help support Priscilla’s vision to Fund the Mission of Clay Art Center, please make a donation to the Priscilla Young Giving Fund.
