ARTIST STATEMENT

Kay Petronio has a BFA from SUNY Purchase and is a graphic designer who has carried her love of designing children's books into her work as a ceramic artist. Her love of pattern, texture and color is incorporated in a whimsical way in her clay work. Her work is wheel thrown and hand built, in both porcelain and brown stoneware, and her pieces are fired at cone 6 in an electric kiln.
