Georgia Tenore Youth Scholarship Fund

Named in honor of a beloved long time teacher at Clay Art Center. Georgia cared passionately about exposing youth to the joys of clay, and as such, we are honored to remember her in this way.

Georgia began making pots and teaching over 40 years ago, and was at CAC for over 20 years. She studied at Haystack and apprenticed and worked at Scargo Pottery, Dennis, MA, with her mentor, Harry Holl, and worked as a porcelain consultant for Dansk. Georgia’s work has been shown in the Hudson River Museum and galleries in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

Georgia strongly believed in creating a supportive and collaborative atmosphere in the classroom, and her classes were lively and full of exploration. Her knowledge of technique and keen eye for bringing together form and decoration helped many students move to become artists in their own right, and she continues to inspire students and artists even though she is now gone.
