The gallery remains closed to in-person visits. Stay tuned for announcements on upcoming virtual exhibits.
Online and Ongoing through 2020
Clay Art Center presents responses from ceramic artists, nationwide, to the current situation we all find ourselves in, brought about by the health concerns of COVID 19. In this time of social distancing, we are seeking to find ways to connect with each other and share the experience as a community. With Connections we aim to document this period in our communal history and experience through art.
Our gallery may be closed, but with this exhibition, we are actively reimagining how we can continue to present the work of ceramic artists from across the US.
Connections is a two-part exhibition.
. . .
1
The virtual portion of Connections features digital photos of entries made from various mediums. A message from each artist accompanies the selected shown work. Submission is free and ongoing through 2020.
We have opened up our virtual exhibition to non-ceramic artists to allow for a wider conversation about making and process in the face of limitation.
2
A collection of ceramic postcards, realized from the original digital entries, will be exhibited in the gallery at Clay Art Center at a later date. The on-site exhibition will primarily feature ceramic artists.
