Clay Art Center is pleased to present Come Together, by Clay Art Center Artists, guest curated by past Artist-in-Residence Kelli Stewart. The exhibition features ceramic works consisting of two components that merge to create something more significant than the individual elements.
Guest Curator and past Artist-in-Residence at Clay Art Center Kelli Stewart states, “In Come Together, parts work together to become one, exploring the idea of connection, unity and the struggle between individual identity and shared experience. This exhibition presents a diverse range of ceramic forms, through which we see how the tactile nature of clay can serve as a metaphor for connection. We are reminded that being human is never a static experience, but a dialogue—continually seeking balance between the separate and the whole."
Kelli Stewart continues, “As a past Artist-in-residence at Clay Art Center, I was delighted to recognize the evolution of familiar member’s work, to see the maturation of their ideas, and to look back and see how the seeds of then, have now come to fruition. The progression from then until now is particularly moving- the growth, the exploration, the pushing of boundaries in ways that I didn’t imagine. I am extremely honored to be a part of this and so proud to be a part of the Clay Art Center legacy.”
