ARTIST STATEMENT

Clay has been calling to me since I was a young child when I glimpsed the pottery wheel in action during summer camp. After leaving a 25-year career in finance, I finally got the chance to explore this lifelong dream and found my passion wheel-throwing functional pottery in porcelain. I find inspiration from the elements of nature. My finished pieces reflect a modern aesthetic and often evoke a sense of movement. I fire to cone 10 in a gas kiln, which means there are always variations in the glaze results — as in nature — making each piece unique. All work is dishwasher, oven and microwave safe.
