ARTIST STATEMENT

I make vessels that examine the intersection of my racial and gender identities. This is leading me to a new understanding of my own body image; I build forms with figurative and floral anatomy and add visual texture to my wares with slips, glazes, and inlays. I draw parallels between the vessel as an object that serves, and the people that use these objects.” Breana is also Clay Art Center’s current Westchester Community Foundation’s Young Artist Fellow.
